This Sunday, July 21, is Belgium’s Independence Day, commemorating their separation from The Netherlands in 1831. To help celebrate we’re bringing in great Belgium style beers, some shipped all the way from Belgium, on tap and in bottles!
Delirium Tremens – 8.5% ABV
Often requested in bottles, we now have this well-known beer from Belgium…on tap. A pale blond beer with a slightly malty aroma hinted with a touch of alcohol, it warms the palate from your first sip. The aftertaste is strong, long-lasting, and dry bitter.
Duvel Single – 6.8% ABV
The same beer as the renowned Duvel Bottle, but now available on tap! Duvel is usually refermented in the bottle and takes 90 days to produce. Duvel Single goes through a “single-fermentation” for 30 days, allowing the typical Duvel flavors and aromas to emerge and producing a beer on tap that’s lower in alcohol and carbonation, and a slightly lighter and crisper taste!
Three Philosophers from Brewery Ommegang – 9.7% ABV
This brew is 98% Ommegang’s Belgian-style dark Quadrupel ale and 2% Liefmans Kriek Ale; an authentic cherry ale from Belgium with Cherries Added. Notable Sweetness, low hop bitterness, and a dry, warm, wine-like finish.
Eagle Rock Manifesto – 5.7 % ABV
Brewed in Eagle Rock near Los Angeles, this Belgian-style ‘wit-bier’ makes a return to Darryl’s Couch. A light wheat base spiced with coriander and citrus peel, Eagle Rock Brewing has added rose petals for an additional, unique taste. These flavors, combined with a slight pepperiness produced by the yeast, combine with a slight tartness in the finish and present a crisp and refreshing experience!
Ladyface Trois Filles Tripel – 8.3% ABV
From our friends at Ladyface Alehouse in Agoura, this Belgian-style Tripel combines spicy, fruity and alcohol flavors with a soft malt character. A substantial beer at 8.3% ABV, it pours with a orange haze and described as having aroma of fruit, yeast and apple with a slight alcohol bite typical of the style.
Wolf Creek Surfin’ Monks Triple – 9.5% ABV
Brewed in the Santa Clarita Valley, Wolf Creek is now making their beers available outside of their restaurants in Santa Clarita and nearby Calabasas. Brewed with Belgian Candi syrup, American hops, Belgian yeast, and dried sweet orange peel, this beer is a deceivingly strong ale with moderate bitterness from the hops which do not overwhelm its citrus and complex fruit flavors.
In addition to these we have some tasty Belgian-style bottled beers, and some of your favorite styles on tap. Check our online beer list for the full line-up!
