Mystery Beer for Tuesday, September 3rd
Institution India Pale Ale
Many craft breweries on the West Coast are judged by the quality of their IPAs and we expect our brewery to be no different. The West Coast raised the bar on IPAs and gained a reputation for making not only the best IPAs in the country, but the world. Without getting into the history and origins of the style, India Pale Ales are simply higher alcohol Pale Ales that are heavily packed with hops. Specifically, Institution IPA is loaded with nearly four pounds of hops per barrel of Columbus, Simcoe, Centennial, and Mosaic. These four hops collide with one another to produce a unique blend of tropical fruit aromas and flavors, which complement a pine-like pungency that coats the back of your mouth with each bitter sip. As with most West Coast examples of this style, our IPA finishes dry allowing the hops to stand out, leaving just enough malt sweetness to keep the beer balanced. ABV 7.5%, IBU 90.
This week, our Mystery Beer on tap is something you’ve probably never had before!
Style: American IPA
Price: $5.00 / pint (tuesday only)
What’s a Mystery Beer?
Each Tuesday we’ll tap a beer, let you know the style, the Alcohol By Volume (ABV), and the International Bittering Units (IBU), and we’ll sell it at a special reduced price. What’s the catch? We won’t tell you the name of the beer, who brews it, or even the area that it’s brewed! You’ll have to wait until the next day to see the update on our website, our Facebook page, and our Twitter feed!
Enjoy the mystery!!
