Mystery Beer for Tuesday, November 26
Updated: Wednesday, 11/27
This week’s Mystery Beer was:
Unity 2013 from Eagle Rock Brewery in Eagle Rock, CA.
Made with honey and hibiscus, Unity 2013 is the official beer of this year’s LA Beer Week which ran September 19-29. Originally a home brew, this recipe won the Maltose Falcon’s Doug King Memorial Competition which was hosted by Eagle Rock Brewery. You can read more about this beer and its origins on the LA Times article, Unity, official beer of L.A. Beer Week…
Style: Specialty or English Mild
This week, our Mystery Beer on most likely falls into BJCP style category 23 as a Specialty Beer, but has been described as a English Mild Ale or even a “Red Mild”. Its low ABV makes it very sessionable, and its limited availability makes it something you’d want to come try soon since you may not be able find it again.
Style: 23. Specialty Beer
ABV: just over 4%
IBUs: unknown or not disclosed
Price: $5.15 / pint
Tuesday only price. Pricing includes sales tax.
Sorry, no tasters and no samples — you have to commit to the mystery.
What’s a Mystery Beer?
Each Tuesday we’ll tap a beer, let you know the style, the Alcohol By Volume (ABV), and the International Bittering Units (IBU), and we’ll sell it at a special reduced price. What’s the catch? We won’t tell you the name of the beer, who brews it, or even the area that it’s brewed! You’ll have to wait until the next day to see the update on our website, our Facebook page, and our Twitter feed!
Enjoy the mystery!!
