Mystery Beer for Tuesday, December 10th

Hoppy Poppy IPA imageUpdated: Wednesday, 12/11
This week’s Mystery Beer was: Hoppy Poppy IPA, from Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. in Buellton, CA.

This 2012 LA International Beer Festival Gold Medal winner is a west-coast style IPA that pours a crystal clear, light amber color, has aromas of orange, grapefruit and tangerine, with a soft bitterness that lingers on the palette.

From their website:

ABV 6.5% • IBU 60

STYLE: American India Pale Ale
Hoppy Poppy IPA is a light-bodied, “west coast” India pale ale featuring Centennial, Cascade, and Simcoe hops and poppy seeds. Like Figueroa Mountain in May, this brew is bursting with a bouquet of floral, citrusy hop flavors and aromas.

We sold a lot yesterday, so hurry in and try some before it’s gone!

This week, our Mystery Beer on tap is…

Style: American IPA (BJCP 14B)
ABV: 6.5%
IBUs: about 60
Price: $5.50 / pint
Tuesday only price. Pricing includes sales tax.
Sorry, no tasters and no samples — you have to commit to the mystery.

What’s a Mystery Beer?

Each Tuesday we’ll tap a beer, let you know the style, the Alcohol By Volume (ABV), and the International Bittering Units (IBU), and we’ll sell it at a special reduced price. What’s the catch? We won’t tell you the name of the beer, who brews it, or even the area that it’s brewed! You’ll have to wait until the next day to see the update on our website, our Facebook page, and our Twitter feed!

Enjoy the mystery!!
