Mystery Beer Revealed

Yesterday’s Mystery Beer was brewed just 49.5 miles down the road at a great little hidden-away brewery in the Eagle Rock area of the City of Los Angeles; Eagle Rock Brewery. Just about 5 years old, when Eagle Rock opened its doors in 2009 they were the first microbrewery to have opened in the City of Los Angeles in over 60 years. They’re now well known in the craft beer world for their excellent craft beers, which we’ve had the pleasure to feature here more and a few times. For yesterday, we brought back a favorite IPA from them:

Our take on the West Coast IPA; Populist is defined by bold hop character. Tropical fruit aromatics give way to flavors of orange blossom, pine, and freshly cut grass with each sip. Light caramel undertones and bready malt character establish the foundation from which the hops shine. Populist is an IPA huge in hop flavor and aroma without lingering or overpowering bitterness.
Welcome to the endless West-coast summer!
