It’s September 16, 2014! Which means that it’s not only the 3rd day of Ventura County Beer Week, but it’s also a Tuesday! That means that it’s time for a Tuesday Mystery Beer… let’s make it local, and let’s tap another local beer while we’re at it!

Tuesday Mystery Beer

For this week’s Mystery Beer we’re back to an IPA, but this one is a little different. While most hops used in beer production are grown in the area of the 48th Parallel (around 1000 miles north of us here in Ventura County) this beer was brewed only with hops from New Zealand and Australia! If you’ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying a beer that utilizes these hops then you’re probably aware of the unique aromas and flavors that they can bring to a beer. This Ventura County brewed beer comes in at 7.2% abv, 70 ibu, and a Tuesday only price of $5.75/pint. Get your pint today… we suspect the keg will go quickly!

More Local Beer

Yesterday we emptied out the keg of Parabola from Firestone Walker. (Yes, it’s empty. It was not pulled early and put back into the cellar.) Rather than wait for the weekend to entice you with more barrel-aged goodness, we’re putting EBC Mk. III on tap today; a Doppelsticke Altbier from Enegren Brewing in Moorpark. A Doppelsticke Altbier is essentially a double altbier, darker and stronger, and this particular beer — brewed in honor of Enegren’s 3rd Anniversary this past August —  was aged for 5 months in second use bourbon barrels. Grab a 12oz pour of this unique style and enjoy the malty flavors full of raisin, caramel and toffee flavors with hints of bourbon, vanilla and oak.

Pricing for the Mystery Beer is a Tuesday only price. Cannot be combined with additional/other discounts. All pricing posted includes sales tax.
