Someone new to the pub asked if we ever have two beers from the brewery on tap at the same time (rarely, but we do) and our first thought went to the Mystery Beer, knowing that we also have Station 1 (American Red/Amber) on tap from the same brewery; El Segundo Brewing Co. The Mystery Beer however is a Double IPA, and was very well received! It was…

Two 5 Left Double IPA from El Segundo Brewing Co.

El Segundo Brewing logoFrom their website:

Two 5 Left Double I.P.A.

• ABV – 8.2%
• Malts – Two Row, Vienna, Crystal 15, Crystal 40
• Hops – Simcoe, Citra, Cascade, Chinook

A brazenly hop-forward beast of a beer, with a huge passionfruit nose. A subtle caramel character provides a malt backbone to shoulder the massive amount of dry-hopping that gives this beer its unique aroma and hop flavor. Two 5 Left is the runway that sends planes screaming right over El Segundo. We always knew we would name a beer after this local landmark, and when it came to naming our first Double IPA.. it fit the bill perfectly.

As we said, it was very popular yesterday… and the keg is about 1/2 gone already! We’re trying to get more, but don’t know when that will be. So hurry in soon to experience this delicious IPA before it’s gone!

Tonight at 5:00 we’ll have Game 2 of the World Series on as the San Francisco Giants attempt to repeat last night’s rout over the Kansas City Royals! See you soon!
