Tuesday Mystery Beer for April 21st
Today’s Mystery Beer comes from a Southern California brewery which was founded in 2008. The beer itself is considered a Blonde Ale, but it was brewed with a heavy dosing of rice, cinnamon and fresh vanilla beans along with lactose for a litle extra creamy character. You may be asking “Why!? Rice in a craft brew!?” but trust us there is a very good reason… which we won’t reveal until tomorrow. You may figure it out if you taste it.
The brew weighs in at 7.2% ABV, 11 IBU and we’re serving up 8 ounce pours for $5.50*. Tomorrow it will return to its regular pricing of $6.75* and Thursday… we’re pulling it from the taps!
Because this beer makes for some great food pairings we were planning to wait until we had a food truck here for its initial tapping. Since that was unable to happen we decided to go ahead with tapping the brew, but we’ll be pulling the keg so that hopefully we’ll have some available for when we have one of our food truck friends here with us. So come in and enjoy it today!
New Brew Preview — Stone Pale Ale 2.0
Some of you have mentioned that you’ve had trouble finding information about the Stone Pale Ale 2.0 we recently tapped. Some even had trouble checking into it on Untappd (our favorite beer check-in app). The reason for this is that Stone Brewing has not yet officially released this beer but we were afforded one of the advance looks at it. They’re still keeping much of the details under wraps but we believe that one of the significant changes is the use of Mandarina Bavaria hops.
Come in and grab a pint today before this keg is gone. You may not get to taste something like this again, since they may have continued to tweak the recipe before the official release! (We heard this keg may be hoppier than the final release!!)
