The Bruery in Placentia, CA has been creating delicious brews since 2008 and yesterday’s Mystery Beer was no exception. Creamy and delicious, we present to you:
Horchata is a traditional, sweet, milky drink originating in Spain and Latin America that has become quite popular in Southern California, particularly with Mexican cuisine. Our take on the traditionally non-alcoholic drink is a blonde ale brewed with a heavy dosing of rice, cinnamon and fresh vanilla beans along with lactose for a litle extra creamy character. If you didn’t know better, you’d think it was carbonated horchata. The flavor is hard to describe, but for those who know it, you know you love it.
The brew weighs in at 7.2% ABV, 11 IBU and we’re serving it up to you in 8 ounce pours. After today though, we’re pulling it from the taps!
Because this beer makes for some great food pairings we were planning to wait until we had a food truck here for its initial tapping. Since that was unable to happen we went ahead with tapping the keg but we want to save some so we’ll have it available for when we have one of our food truck friends here with us; hopefully within the next couple of weeks. So come in and enjoy it today!
