In the spirit of New Brew Thursday, we’re adding a couple of new additions to the bottle fridge today. For daily enjoyment we’ve added Liliko’i Kepolo from Avery Brewing, and on the cellar-side we’ve added bottles of Track #10 from The Lost Abbey.
Liliko’i Kepolo from Avery Brewing in Colorado is a Belgian-Style White Ale with Passionfruit at a somewhat sessionable 5.4%abv. From their website:
Adding a tropical island flair to a spicy traditional witbier, Liliko’i erupts with monumental passionfruit aroma and acidity along with a sublimely succulent finish.
Track 10: Bat out of Hell from The Lost Abbey is a Barrel-aged Strong Ale in 375ml bottles and 13.5%abv fits right in with the other “big beers” in our bottle fridge. From their website:
From the Ultimate Box Set: “A fresh track, Track 10 began as a fresh Serpent’s Stout base aged in bourbon barrels with oodles of coffee and cacao nibs added shortly before packaging. Late in November of 2011, our head brewer asked about creating a Coffee and Cacoa Nib version of Serpent’s Stout for the San Diego Strong Ale Festival. The beer was a hit with our fans. When we wrote up the syllabus for the Ultimate Box Set, we knew a version of this beer would be included. We waited until the very end of the release schedule to put this beer in a bottle so that the coffee and cacoa nibs really come through.”
Base Beers: Serpent’s Stout, Older Viscosity
Specialty Ingredients: Coffee & Cacao Nibs
