New Brew Thursday: Modern Times – BBA Monsters’ Park

For this week’s New Brew Thursday brew we putting on a special keg before it gets squirreled away in the cellar for a bit. Stop in for a pour or two of Modern Times’ Monsters’ Park Imperial Stout aged in Bourbon Barrels. From Modern Times:

Black as oil and thick as blood. A vigorous pour produces a two finger, deep brown head. The mouthfeel is very full, with healthy, prickly carbonation. The aroma pops big time: major notes of bourbon, oak, chocolate, and toasted nuts waft out of the glass. The flavor is very powerful, with bourbon & roast malt leading the charge, followed by vanilla-y oak, caramel, dark chocolate, and those toasted nuts again. The finish lingers for days, with sweet malt and bourbon dominating. A seriously intense but very well-rounded barrel-aged imperial stout. The roasty intensity of Monsters’ Park is a beautiful match for the sweetness of bourbon.
Stop in soon to enjoy a pour or two of this 13.7%abv, big, rich and flavorful beer from the tap. There’s no telling how long it’s gonna last!!

Throw Back Thursday: Left Hand – Good Juju

Also going up on the taps today is Good Juju from Left Hand brewing in Longmont, CO. At a mellow 4.5% abv, this light ale is brewed with organic ginger to create a spicy aroma and unique flavor. The keg emptied quickly when it first graced our taps during our Left Hand launch event/tap takeover last year and we don’t expect this time to be any different!

Stanley Cup Finals – Game 5 – Sharks must win

Tonight at 5:00 the San Jose Sharks face a must win situation in Pittsburgh against the Penguins in game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Join us for 10% off all taps during the game (5:00-8:00), and hopefully the Sharks will light the lamp more times than the Penguins so that we can see a game 6!

Still on tap today, but the kegs are almost empty… MW Standard from MadeWest in Ventura, and Unity IPA from Three Weavers.
